Terms and Conditions

By booking any service with Mannering Barton Dog Training, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

1. About the Business

Mannering Barton Dog Training operates as a UK sole trader. Trading address: available on request.

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

2. Services Provided

Mannering Barton Dog Training offers:

  • Group puppy training classes

  • Group adult dog training classes

  • 1-to-1 private training sessions (home, outdoor, online or agreed locations)

  • Non-clinical behaviour support (severity dependent)

    • Where a dog requires clinical behavioural support, owners may be advised to seek referral via their vet

  • Online or remote support (WhatsApp, email, video – package dependent)

  • From time to time, lead and off lead walking

We do not offer:

  • Board & train or residential training

  • Veterinary or clinical behaviour services

3. Bookings & Payment

  • Full payment is required at the time of booking

  • Bookings are confirmed once payment has been received

  • Prices are those advertised at the time of booking or agreed in email

  • All payments are processed securely via third-party providers or direct to the businesses bank account

  • Any payment disputes or chargebacks raised for services already delivered will be contested with supporting documentation

4. Training Sessions & Packages

  • Sessions are typically around 60 minutes (some may be approximately 45 minutes if appropriate)

  • Group classes and packages are sold as block bookings

  • 1-to-1 sessions may be booked individually or in blocks as agreed

  • All sessions must be used within the agreed timeframe (usually sequential weeks)

Training outcomes cannot be guaranteed. Progress depends on many factors, including owner consistency and the dog’s individual needs.

5. Travel & Mileage

  • Where applicable, a travel supplement may be charged at £0.45 per mile beyond the standard service area.

  • Any additional charges will be communicated in advance.

6. Cancellations, Refunds & Missed Sessions

  • Once you book, I reserve the time specifically for you and as I will be forfeiting other consultations, regrettably once booked, these sessions are non-refundable

  • Missed sessions cannot be rescheduled or transferred

  • If Mannering Barton Dog Training cancels a session, lessons/sessions will be rescheduled

  • If a course cannot continue, appropriate alternatives will be offered in the first instance before refunds

7. Force Majeure

  • Mannering Barton Dog Training shall not be liable for failure or delay in providing services due to circumstances beyond reasonable control

  • Including but not limited to illness, extreme weather, transport disruption, or emergencies. Where possible, alternative arrangements will be offered.

8. Dog Welfare & Eligibility

Dogs attending training must:

  • Be fully vaccinated if in person with other dogs

  • Be free from contagious illness

  • Be suitable for a group training environment (if in a group scenario)

Bitches in Season

  • Bitches in season are not permitted to attend group classes

  • No refunds or credits are provided in these circumstances

Owners must disclose any history of aggression, biting, or behavioural concerns prior to training.

9. Equipment & Training Methods

Permitted equipment in lessons includes:

  • Flat collars

  • Well-fitted harnesses (top or front lead connection)

  • Standard leads (short and long - training dependant)

The following are not permitted:

  • Slip leads

  • Prong collars

  • Shock or electronic collars or other variants

  • Any aversive or punishment-based equipment

Training is reward-based, ethical, and force-free.

10. Children & Attendance

  • A maximum of two children per booking agreed in advance (if attending a class)

  • Children must be supervised at all times by parents/guardians

  • Only adults aged 18+ may handle dogs during sessions

  • Disruptive behaviour may result in attendance being refused for safety reasons. No refunds will be given if this happens

11. Owner Responsibility, Safety & Limitation of Liability

  • Mannering Barton Dog Training shall not be held liable for any injury, loss, damage, or incident involving dogs, people, or property during or following training sessions, except where required by law

  • Owners remain fully responsible for their dog’s behaviour at all times

  • Dogs must remain under the owner’s control at all times unless instructed otherwise

  • Training may take place indoors or outdoors, including public spaces

  • Dogs are animals and their behaviour cannot be guaranteed

  • Owners must provide accurate and complete information regarding their dog’s health, behaviour history, and household circumstances

  • Failure to do so may result in services being withdrawn without refund

12. Illness & Fitness to Train

Dogs must not attend sessions if they are:

  • Unwell or injured

  • Showing signs of contagious illness

  • Known to have been in contact with infectious conditions (e.g. kennel cough)

Owners must notify us as soon as possible if their dog is unfit to attend

13. Photography & Video

  • Photos and videos may be taken during sessions

  • These may be used for marketing purposes unless you opt out in writing

  • Clients may not film or photograph sessions or other attendees without consent from Mannering Barton Dog Training

14. Remote Support

  • Remote support (WhatsApp, email, video) is package-dependent and is not guaranteed

  • Support is limited to working hours only and fair usage will apply. We reserve the right to withdraw this support at any time

  • Remote support is not suitable for emergencies

  • Veterinary issues must always be referred to a qualified vet

15. Insurance

Mannering Barton Dog Training holds appropriate:

  • Public Liability Insurance

  • Professional Indemnity Insurance

But you are always responsible for your dog
