By booking any service with Mannering Barton Dog Training, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

1. About the Business

Mannering Barton Dog Training operates as a UK sole trader. Trading address is available on request. These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

2. Services Provided

Mannering Barton Dog Training offers:

  • Group puppy and adult dog training classes.

  • 1-to-1 private training sessions (home, outdoor, online, or agreed locations).

  • Non-clinical behaviour support (severity dependent).

  • Online or remote support (WhatsApp, email, video – package dependent).

  • Occasional lead and off-lead walking.

We do not offer: Board & train/residential training or Veterinary/clinical behaviour services. Where a dog requires clinical support, owners will be advised to seek a veterinary referral.

3. Bookings & Payment

  • Full payment is required at the time of booking to secure your space.

  • Bookings are confirmed only once payment has been received.

  • Prices are those advertised at the time of booking or as agreed via email.

  • Payments are processed securely via third-party providers or direct bank transfer.

  • Any payment disputes or chargebacks raised for services already delivered will be contested with supporting documentation.

4. Training Sessions & Packages

  • Sessions are typically 45–60 minutes depending on the dog's needs and environmental factors.

  • Group classes and packages are sold as block bookings and must be used within the agreed timeframe (usually sequential weeks).

  • Training outcomes cannot be guaranteed. Progress depends on owner consistency, homework compliance, and the dog’s individual temperament and health.

5. Travel & Mileage

Where applicable, a travel supplement may be charged at £0.45 per mile beyond the standard service area. Any additional charges will be communicated and agreed upon in advance.

6. Cancellations, Refunds & Missed Sessions

  • Once you book, I reserve the time specifically for you and forfeit other consultations. Regrettably, all bookings are non-refundable.

  • Missed sessions cannot be rescheduled, refunded, or transferred to other dates/clients.

  • Specific Inclusion: This non-refundable policy strictly applies to sessions missed due to:

    • Bitches coming into season.

    • Dog illness or injury.

    • Owner illness or personal scheduling conflicts.

  • If Mannering Barton Dog Training cancels a session, lessons will be rescheduled. If a course cannot continue, appropriate alternatives will be offered in the first instance before pro-rata refunds are considered.

7. Force Majeure

Mannering Barton Dog Training shall not be liable for failure or delay in providing services due to circumstances beyond reasonable control, including but not limited to illness, extreme weather, transport disruption, or emergencies. Where possible, alternative arrangements will be offered.

8. Dog Welfare & Eligibility

  • Vaccinations: Dogs must be fully vaccinated (or have a valid titer test) for in-person group sessions.

  • Bitches in Season: Are strictly not permitted to attend group classes. As per Section 6, no refunds or credits are provided. Owners are encouraged to attend group classes without their dog to observe and learn.

  • Illness: Dogs must not attend if they are unwell, injured, or showing signs of contagious illness (e.g., Kennel Cough). No refunds are provided for illness-related absences.

  • Disclosure: Owners must disclose any history of aggression, biting, or serious behavioural concerns prior to booking.

9. Equipment & Training Methods

  • Prohibited: Slip leads, prong collars, shock/electronic collars, choke chains, or any aversive/punishment-based equipment.

  • Training is strictly reward-based, ethical, and force-free. Use of physical corrections by the owner may result in immediate termination of the session without refund.

10. Children & Attendance

  • Children must be supervised at all times by a non-handling parent/guardian.

  • Only adults aged 18+ may handle dogs during sessions unless specifically agreed for training purposes.

  • Disruptive behaviour may result in attendance being refused for safety reasons. No refunds will be given.

11. Owner Responsibility & Limitation of Liability

  • Consultancy Disclosure: Mannering Barton Dog Training provides professional coaching and advice. Training a dog is a collaborative process; the owner is responsible for the consistent application of methods shown.

  • Owner Judgement: Owners are expected to use their own judgement and common sense when implementing training advice. You are responsible for ensuring any environment is safe for your dog before practicing techniques.

  • Liability: Mannering Barton Dog Training shall not be held liable for any injury, loss, damage, or incident involving dogs, people, or property resulting from the owner's implementation (or misinterpretation) of advice provided.

  • Control: Owners remain legally responsible for their dog’s behaviour and must keep the dog under control at all times.

  • Dogs must remain on-lead at all times: Unless the trainer specifically suggests an off-lead exercise. Even in these instances, the final decision to release the dog remains with the owner, and the dog remains the owner's legal responsibility.
